SNOHOMISH — Eight people, including one as young as 6, were hospitalized Monday night after a two-vehicle crash that closed U.S. 2 near Snohomish.
A Marysville man was driving east in a Cadillac CT4 sedan on the highway and crossed into the westbound lane at 9:41 p.m., according to the Washington State Patrol. A minivan with seven people from Woodinville heading west tried to avoid the car, but was hit head-on.
The Marysville man, 44, was not wearing a seat belt, according to the state patrol. He and the seven others in the minivan were taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
The cause of the collision was under investigation.
U.S. 2 reopened around 2 a.m., according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
