EVERETT — Two men died and another was hospitalized in a shooting in Everett on Monday afternoon, police say.

Detectives were on scene in the 2000 block of Lexington Avenue investigating the shooting that was reported just before 4 p.m., said Everett officer Kerby Duncan.

The suspected shooter fled on foot before officers got on scene, Duncan said.

When police arrived, they found a man in his early 40s with a gunshot wound in the doorway of a house. He was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, according to the fire department.

Inside the house, officers found two deceased men, Duncan said. Both were in their mid to late 40s.
